Case File 3: Last Dance at the Gala!A Glorious Return Gone Wrong
The Ivywood Gala shimmered with crystal light and champagne laughter. Tonight was more than a celebration—it was history in the making. For after years of whispers and rumors, the royal family was finally announcing the return of their long-lost daughter.
Her name was Rose. A fitting name, some said, for she was known to adore the flower—collecting them, wearing them, always drawn to their beauty. And as the clock struck midnight, the host raised a glass to toast her homecoming.
Glasses clinked, the orchestra hushed, and in that moment, a servant delivered a bouquet of blood-red roses into Rose’s hands. She smiled with delight, lifted them to her face, and breathed in their sweet fragrance.
The joy lasted only a heartbeat. Her expression twisted, her breath caught, and within seconds, her body crumpled to the ballroom floor. A scream split the air. The roses stayed clutched in her hands, their petals brushing the marble tiles, already tainted by the shadow of death.
The One With the Most To Lose
At first, many thought it was poison in her drink. But her glass held nothing unusual—no bitter scent, no strange taste. The roses, however, told another story.
Rose was highly allergic to a rare pollen extract—something only those close to her would know. The bouquet had been sprayed with it, transforming her beloved flowers into a silent weapon.
Why the roses? Because the killer knew she could never resist them.
Behind the glittering gowns and crystal chandeliers, one figure had the most to lose. Rose’s cousin—once the sole heir to the throne and inheritance—now stood second in line. Rose’s return had pushed them aside, threatening their claim, their power, their wealth.
So the cousin plotted carefully. The roses were delivered at midnight, when all eyes would be on the toast, making the timing look like a grand gesture rather than an attack. The cousin had arranged for the flowers, infused with the allergen, knowing the reaction would appear natural—an unfortunate tragedy, not murder.
The gala was meant to crown Rose’s place in the royal family, but instead it revealed a darker truth. Her cousin, desperate to protect their claim to the throne, turned her greatest joy into her doom.
The roses, once a symbol of beauty, had become the instrument of betrayal.
