AviaGames CEO Vickie Chen Shares 2026 App Development Insights in App Developer Magazine
Industry News Feb 13, 2026
If you've been paying attention to how people talk about apps lately, you've probably noticed a shift. It's no longer just about how smooth an experience feels or how engaging a game is. More than ever, consumers want tech companies to show up, be transparent, and take part in social and philanthropic causes that actually matter.
At
AviaGames, this change is already shaping the future of
App Development. And as
Mobile App Development continues to evolve, we believe purpose-driven experiences will play a much bigger role in how apps are built and how users connect with them.
That's exactly what our CEO,
Vickie Chen, shared in a recent feature with
App Developer Magazine, where she discussed her outlook on app development in 2026 and why in-app philanthropy is becoming a meaningful way for developers and users to create impact together.
A Clear Perspective for App Development in 2026
Looking ahead to 2026, Vickie's perspective is simple but powerful. She believes more app developers and publishers will find ways to let users support social causes directly through the apps and games they already love.
Instead of treating philanthropy as something separate, the future of App Development will bring it into the core experience. In 2026, companies and users won't be working in silos. They'll be working together to drive change and create measurable impact, simply through everyday app usage.
This is where Mobile App Development is headed: experiences that don't ask users to do more, but allow what they're already doing to matter.
Why Philanthropy Matters So Much to Us at Avia
At
AviaGames, philanthropy isn't a side project. It's central to how we think about our games and our responsibility as developers.
Because philanthropy is central to our work at Avia, we have been testing a new approach to charity that lets us team up with our players and allows our games to be vehicles for change. Players don't need to do anything extra, just continue playing the game they enjoy.
That idea guides how we approach App Development. If giving back feels effortless and natural, more people can be part of creating positive change.
Solitaire Clash and the Power of Our Player Community
Our charity initiatives are built around our flagship title,
Solitaire Clash, which is available for free on the App Store, Samsung Galaxy Store, and direct Android APK download.
Over time, Solitaire Clash has grown into a massive and highly engaged community:
- More than 60 million downloads
- Over 450 million monthly matches
Players dive into competitive, skill-based solitaire, where strategy plays a big role. Between multiplayer matches, mini-games like Scratchers and Dice Cruise, in-game events, and ongoing challenges, Solitaire Clash offers an experience that keeps players coming back.
That level of engagement gave us a unique opportunity to explore how Mobile App Development can support social causes in a way that feels authentic to players.
Play for Paws: Turning Gameplay Into Real-World Impact
In the fall of 2025, we launched
Play for Paws, our first in-game philanthropic initiative, in partnership with the Nevada SPCA.
We created the campaign to address widespread shelter overcrowding and food insecurity. Inside the game, players completed missions to earn “Dry Food” and feed a virtual version of a Nevada SPCA animal. Every time a player fed an animal, Avia donated directly to the shelter.
The response from our community was incredible:
- $222,100 raised in just three weeks
- Over 14,000 pounds of food donated to the Nevada SPCA
Players were rewarded for their in-game success, and together we were able to make a real difference for animals in need. It was a clear example of how App Development can connect digital experiences to tangible outcomes.
Wonderland Wishes: Giving Back During the Holidays
After seeing how enthusiastically our community engaged with Play for Paws, we expanded our charity efforts during the holiday season. In December, we launched
Wonderland Wishes in partnership with
Foster Love and our campaign ambassador
Leo González.
Players played as usual and completed in-game tasks and events to earn “Wish Stars.” For every 100 Wish Stars collected by each player, AviaGames donated $0.02 to Foster Love, supporting its mission throughout the holiday season.
Implications for the Future of App Development
These experiences reinforce what Vickie believes we'll see more of in 2026. When social good is integrated directly into App Development, players respond. They want to be part of something bigger, especially when supporting a cause feels like a natural extension of what they're already doing.
For Mobile App Development, this opens the door to experiences that:
- Feel more meaningful to users.
- Strengthen trust and community engagement.
- Create measurable social impact.
Our campaigns have shown that players genuinely value opportunities to support important causes through gameplay.
Continuing Our Focus on Purposeful App Development
As we move into the new year, we plan to continue prioritizing charity-driven initiatives and building on the momentum our community has already created. With Play for Paws and Wonderland Wishes proving successful, we hope to see more developers across the industry follow this path.
Integrating social good directly into gaming platforms allows users to feel that their everyday activity contributes to something larger than themselves. As App Development continues to evolve in 2026, we believe this approach will play an increasingly important role in shaping the future of the industry.
