Solitaire Clash Guide 101: Choose a Solitaire King of the Right Color

Guides and Tips Sept 03, 2025

In Solitaire Clash, every move matters. One of the most important Solitaire tips for beginners is this: always choose a Solitaire King of the right color when placing it into an empty tableau slot.

It might seem like a small decision, but it can make the difference between keeping your Solitaire game flowing smoothly or getting stuck with no moves. Let's walk through this tip step by step with an easy example so you can learn how to play Solitaire better.

Step 1: Don't Place the Wrong Solitaire King

When a tableau column becomes empty, you may feel tempted to quickly drop in the first King you see. Take a look at Figure 1:

  • There's an empty slot.
  • You have a black King available.
  • But the nearest Queen is also black.
Since playing Solitaire requires an alternating sequence of colors (black → red → black, and so on), putting this black King in the space will stall your progress immediately.

Step 2: Find the Matching Color

Instead of rushing, pause and check the board. You can click on the stockpile to check if suitable cards are available. In Figure 2, you can see a red King is also available. This is the correct choice, because:

  • A red King matches perfectly with the black Queen already on the tableau.
  • This creates a proper alternating sequence that will keep your game moving forward.
By choosing the King card of the right color, you're setting yourself up for success.

Step 3: Start a New Sequence

After placing the red King in the empty tableau, something great happens. In Figure 3:

  • The black Queen can now be moved right under the red King.
  • This begins a brand-new sequencing cards that follow the alternating color rule.
You've just unlocked more movement opportunities!

Step 4: Keep Revealing Cards

Finally, in Figure 4, once you place the black Queen under the red King, a new card is revealed. This is exactly what you want in Solitaire Clash—the more cards you uncover, the more options you have to keep playing smoothly.

Every correct move you make not only builds a sequence but also clears the way to reveal hidden cards. And the faster you reveal cards, the closer you get to winning Solitaire.

Why This Tip Works

The reason this Solitaire strategy is so powerful is simple: Solitaire is all about momentum. Placing the wrong King blocks your path, but placing the right one keeps your options wide open. If you want to master how to win solitaire, focus on creating longer chains, uncovering more cards, and keeping your moves flexible.

Think of it this way:

  • Wrong King = stuck sequence and wasted space.
  • Right King = smooth sequence and fresh opportunities.

Final Thoughts

Next time you play Solitaire Clash, remember this golden rule: always choose the right color of Solitaire King. Follow these four steps—avoid the wrong King, pick the matching one, build a new sequence, and keep revealing cards—and you'll see your Solitaire gameplay improve in no time.
